I am researching my family - MILLIGAN - and thanks to this website and the energy and kindness of Mary Haggarty, have found out much already. However, I would be really grateful for any more bits of information - no matter how small - to add to the pieces of jigsaw I have, including stories, anecdotes etc. Photos, or their identification on any pictures on this website would be most welcome.
The names I am interested in are JOHN MILLIGAN of Bellevue, Boat-hirer, and MARGARET MILLIGAN (nee REID). They married in June 1908 at the Arrochar Hotel and lived at Bellevue - John died in 1940, Margaret in 1946. John was not from Arrochar originally, but Margaret was - she was a niece of the Misses MacFarlane.
There are tantalising clues and the possibility of more information from some of the stories/information already on the site eg Jane Bichard's mother, Nancy Campbell lived at Bellevue 1938-2000, so I would be very grateful if anyone could get in touch.
